This assignment I found Photoshop so easy to use, maybe it's all the time spent trying to learn the program. So with my final design basically reflected my original sketch. I went for a dark green background because my work is often more dark than bright. I wanted to incorporate a design on the homepage along with personal/bio info. I thought it would be good to include a pic of myself....I saw that several others had decided to do this too. The background was the same for both pages. I used white lettering to stand out against the darker background. I changed the color of the background to green and resized my work to fit the portfolio. I also used the hue and saturation to adjust my photo. I also added the copyright because I saw that on many artists sites. Great class but what a pain learning new software lol!!!

Portfolio Sketches
I am developing a portfolio to display the designs I have created for this course. I will be including a header with a logo and navigation buttons. I want to use a cool background color that will not distract from the design work. I was thinking of a green shade that is not too cool because my designs are darker in nature. I will use the same color for the webpages. I want to display my best design on the homepage and include information about myself and my creative process. The next page would display my other designs. If the viewer hovers over the design it will show the explanation of the design and what it was created for.

Ecard Final....Finally
I used several different aspects of Photoshop to create my e-card. I based my card on recycle, reduce, reuse. I wanted to incorporate the green arrows that are reflective of recycling and did that on the inside of the card. The black and green was a bit drab so I cropped and added the blue symbols. I needed to crop and adjust the hue and saturation of the landfill photo. I also added the text and used black to make it stand out more in such a busy background. The back of the card is where I used text and the earth to convey the message. I did use the blur effect to make the earth stand out more. I really wanted to do more of a ray effect off the earth, but still learning. So here is my e-card!!

E-Card sketches
Here are my two designs for my e-card. It is going to be based the reduce, reuse, and recycle emblem made of the three thick green arrows. Since people are familiar with the sign I wanted to use it in my design. I also wanted to incorporate a beautiful picture to represent what the world could look like if everyone recycled. The one design includes a photo of a landfill and how dirty it is. On the back cover there would be beautiful scenic forest or field. In the second sketch I focused more on the positives including a beautiful vibrant pic of the earth and a pic of a family recycling together. As you can see from arrows I think I may want to put the earth on the back cover. I think it would be a great back together with the tag 'Lets keep the world sparkling." In both sketches I want to use some information and facts in regards to recycling and reusing and the effect it has on the environment. The font will be something bold in print but unsure of the color until I select all my photos. Thanks for any input!!

This project was much more difficult for me than the previous ones. It was important to adhere to the required measurements and took some time. I wanted to use the face of the artist to reach people who may already be fans. I used only his first name as the title to entice possible buyers. I did not want the cover to be too dull with just a black and white photo so I added the Father of Jazz. As Jellyroll Morton proclaimed that he was. I did need to crop the photo of the artist. I added text in different fonts and colors to make the cover more interesting. I did the same with the spine and the back. I kept the photo of the piano in color so the book wouldn't be dull, but I am second guessing that choice and maybe should have went B&W. The piano photo needed to be cropped and resized. I included some information about myself, the author, on the back of the book.
